Animorphs: The Sickness

Welcome to another installment of Thought-Speak, where we aren’t quite on time to release a new episode for Christmas but we’re able to just barely squeak one in before the new year! It’s been another wild year here at the ol’ Thought-Speak, full of ups and downs and all-arounds. There were a ton of important “life milestones” reached by both your hosts, including marriages, home buying, and childbirths. We also reached the “halfway point” of the Animorphs some time ago, and it’s comforting to know that we’re on the “back end” of the series now and getting into all the books we either haven’t read or are just less familiar with. The format of the show has changed quite a bit since we started in 2014, and we’re always tweaking things ever so slightly to bring you all the best show possible. We love delving into listener comments and emails when we have time, but we’re also trying to keep the shows under that hour and a half mark, something that our most dedicated listeners probably know is a difficult thing for us to do. Anyway, without wasting too much more of your time, thanks for sticking with the podcast this long and expect even more great content to come in 2017!

This speak: Ax comes down with a deadly and contagious case of SPACE AIDS! And just in time for the next dangerous mission to the Yeerk Pool! When Cassie is confronted by a controller claiming to be with the Yeerk Peace Movement, she learns that her old buddy Aftran (from The Departure) isn’t doing so well after the last time we saw her… as in, she’s about to be interrogated by Visser 3 and reveal all the Animorphs deepest darkest secrets to him! So now Cassie and the rest of the Animorphs (and not Ax!) have to figure out a way to rescue Aftran, all while quelling the flames of Ax’s raging SPACE AIDS… Which has started to spread to the rest of the team! Giving Cassie some much-needed time to work on her alien brain surgery skills. What a head case! *Insert sound of crickets* … All that and more when we review Animorphs book #29, The Sickness.
