Animorphs: The Underground

Here’s a book I didn’t remember reading until I was halfway through it. Apparently I read it once during my original read-through of the series, when I was a wee lad in grade school. That’s just part of the fun of reading all the books again, discovering which ones I’d read and forgotten long ago. Fun times with mole morph. And oatmeal… I think most fans would refer to this book as “the oatmeal book”. I get why. But honestly, this book will always be mole morph book for me.

Today on Thought-Speak: Remember Private Thought-Speak? It’s back! Also: another in-depth discussion of the cover! Does this book deserve to be more than just “the oatmeal” book? Planet Hollywood! Coincidences! Continuity! More coincidences! Nuthouses! Building a better tarantula scene! The story of poor, poor George Edelmen! Oatmeal! Rachel’s absence from her own plot! Mole morph! The Underground! All that and more in our review of Animorphs book 17, “The Underground.”

We need you to subscribe to the show on iTunes and/or Stitcher! It’s important for helping other people find out about our show. If you want us to keep going and do the entire series, you’d better get on that. Please rate our show and review it as well, that’s the most helpful. Don’t forget: you can email us your thoughts on the next book, “The Decision” at and we’ll read them at the end of our next episode. We make no promises on whether or not we’ll make fun of you, though…

Happy holidays!
